So, four atheist bloggers have now been hacked to death in Bangladesh. Apparently Allah the compassionate, the merciful has decreed that it is okay to murder anyone who doesn't accept the world view of the faithful. Individuals are not entitled to come to their own conclusions. In past times we Europeans burnt people at the stake for holding alternative views; we called them heretics.
Historians say we shouldn't judge these historical murders by modern standards, and they may have a point. When Bruno Giordano was burnt science was in its infancy but today despite the incredible advances in knowledge we still have medievalists - or should I say psychopaths who think that anything is justified if people don't conform to their ignorant, ludicrous, and frankly mad way of thinking.
